A Black Cat
Learn how to make a play doh cat!
The scary black cat play dough mat will teach your little learner to make a black cat out of play dough. You can use this activity to work on the word “cat”, as well as the color black, while also build sensory play skills, fine motor skills and receptive language skills.

The Witch’s Cauldron
With this play dough mat, your little learner will make green caterpillars out of play dough to put in the witch’s cauldron! If your child is verbal, you can work on the words “witch”, “cauldron” and “caterpillar”, as well as the colors green and black. Otherwise, use it for simple sensory play, to build receptive language skills and to work on fine motor strength and precision.
A Spider and its Spiderweb
Use this play dough mat to teach your little learner to create a spider out of play dough to put in the spiderweb. Work on vocabulary, receptive language, colors, sensory play and fine motor skills with this Halloween play dough mat.

How to use these Halloween Play Dough Mats with Kids with Autism
- Follow the instructions on each play dough mat to create green caterpillars to go in the witch’s cauldron, a spider to go inside the spiderweb and a scary, black cat!
- Guide your child to label each item to work on vocabulary skills.
- Build receptive language skills by asking your little one to show you the cat, spider, etc. using the instruction “show me the cat!”, “show me the cauldron!”, etc.
- Have your child roll, pull, pat and squeeze the play dough to build fine motor skills.
- Teach turn taking by taking turns to do a part of the activity with your child.
