Autumn Sensory Bottles for Kids with Autism

This is a collection of my favorite Autumn sensory bottles for kids with autism. I have made them and used them with my little learners at my autism center. The kids love them and they are a fun and effective sensory activity to add to your home program or classroom. They are one of my favorite sensory crafts for special needs kids.

How to make autumn sensory bottles

All of the sensory bottles are very easy to make. All you need is a Voss water bottle and a handful of simple materials that you can collect with your child to put these sensory bottles together.

Why use sensory bottles with your child with autism

Sensory bottles literally help children with autism, SPD and other sensory regulation problems “learn how to regulate their physiological and emotional responses to stressors”. I love this post from an OT mom that explains why sensory bottles work.

How to use sensory bottles in an autism classroom

Sensory bottles are such a valuable tools to use in an autism classroom. You can use them to help children with specific sensory needs transition between activities more easily, calm down when overly stimulated and engage in a fun, sensory activity.
