Strong fine motor skills are an essential prerequisite for several school activities : cutting, holding a pencil and writing, to name a few. Developed fine motor skills are also important to be able to fully thrive in one’s environment : to manipulate toys and other items, to pick things up, to lay things down and to use both hands in a fully coordinated way.
Below are 10 of my favorite creative ways to build your little one’s fine motor skills!
1. Erase letters with a Q-tip from Gift of Curiousity.
2. Hang clothes with clothespins (Montessori Style) from Preschool-Daze.
3. Work on pointing with the free printable pointing book for kids from Special Learning House.
4. Plant a playdough flower garden from Fantastic Fun and Learning.
5. Create ribbon wands from Somewhat Simple.
6. Cut fresh flowers from Crafty Kids at Home.
7. Scoop and pour rice bin activity from Play to Learn Preschool.
8. Create playdough fish with your free printable fish bowl playdough mat from Special Learning House.
9. Build with sticks & playdough from Fireflies + Mudpies.
10. Stamp with apples from Crafty Morning.
I would love to hear from you! Let me know which activity is your favorite! ♥
