These smoothie recipes for kids are for you if :

  • You struggle to get your child to eat (and enjoy!) fruits and vegetables.
  • You are always on the lookout for healthy and delicious kid-friendly recipes.
  • Your little one is a picky eater.
  • Your child prefers smoother textures.
  • You’re looking for a quick recipe filled with vitamins that your child can enjoy on the go (in the car or on a trip).

7 reasons for keeping a collection of smoothie recipes for kids on hand in your home

You will love these kid-friendly smoothie recipes for so many reasons. I love making smoothies with the kids at my learning house for children with autism, Le Chemin ABA too.

  1. Smoothie recipes are easy to follow and require few ingredients.
  2. When making a smoothie, we can use a simple 2 or 3 step visual schedule to plan out the activity and show the kids what steps they need to follow with photos.
  3. Smoothies are quick to make. Plan the ingredients, put the ingredients in the blender, push a button and – voilà! – the smoothie is ready!
  4. Smoothies are (depending on the ingredients!) healthy. We always use fresh, organic ingredients for our smoothies.
  5. Smoothies introduce children to new flavors in an easy to drink way.
  6. Using the blender helps children who are sensitive to noise overcome their sensory sensitivities in a fun and reinforcing way.
  7. Smoothies are delicious!
