Building a nest : bird’s nest projects for kids + recipe

Spring is in the air in Paris! The sun is shining, birds are chirping and the hyacinth flowers in our garden are starting to bloom! Yipeeeee!

I’ve collected ideas to help you engage your kids in bird’s nest – making projects to celebrate the arrival of Spring!

Invitation to build a nest

I love the idea of reading a book and creating a project that goes with the theme of the story. This wonderful project is from Munchkins and Moms. The book is More
by I.C. Springman and the project is building a beautiful nest with small objects!

Building a bird’s nest with playdough and tiny treasures

As you all know, I love playdough and so do the children at my learning house! This wonderful project involves creating a bird’s nest from homemade, DIY playdough, small twigs and pieces of wood and little plastic multi-colored birds.

This project is from Fantastic Fun and Learning.

For more playdough ideas, check out my article full of playdough stamping fun, Playdough stamping : sensory fun for children on the autism Spectrum.

Build a nest…….. using rice krispie treats & jelly beans – yummm!

This idea from Crafty Morning is too cute! I can’t wait to try it with kids at Le Chemin ABA.
