Teach autistic children scents

Teach autistic children scents with this fun, FOLLOW YOUR NOSE scents game!

This game is amazing! I heart it big time. The game features many different scents in tiny little vials along with scent cards. There are so many fun scents. Some of my favorites are : lavender, rose and banana. What makes this game so fun, and what really helps teach autistic children scents, is that there are some very unusual scents included (mushroom?!).

Use this scent game to teach autistic children scents, to take turns and to explore familiar and new scents.

You can explore scents openly with your child or follow the rules and match the mini scent to its corresponding image. You can also make the game less abstract and easier to understand, by adding real objects. If you are learning the scent for oranges, for example, have a bowl of oranges on the table with you. This will help your child understand that the scent he or she is enjoying also corresponds to a real item. Teach autistic children scents by using this fun FOLLOW YOUR NOSE scents game.

I have been using this game for years with hundreds of children and I can personally say that it is remarkable how the vials do not try out. You can play with the game over and over again and it remains in very good condition – provided the scent jars do not get wet.

If you are working on learning and identifiying new scents with your little one, you can also check out my post Montessori inspired scent jars for a fun scent-related learning activity.

Let me know if you have used this game with your child. I would love to hear about your experience! If you haven’t tried the FOLLOW YOUR NOSE scents game yet, I highly recommend it. It is sure to be a family favorite for a long time!
