I discovered a wonderful new blog today called Soft Thistle Life : Creating My Life My Way. This fabulous mama is raising two sons as a single mum. One of them has autism. She blogs about autism but also about love, life and inspiration. She also has a yorkie! How cool is that?!
She wrote a wonderful article about her son’s experience with equine assisted therapy – how he was resistant at first, and gradually, within the space of one session, learned to connect and love the smallest of the Shetland poneys.
“Max’s very up and down behaviour has changed over the last 3 months, and the only difference in our lives in that time has been the inclusion of the EAP sessions (Equine Assisted Psychotherapy).
He is now much calmer and happier over all, both at home and at school, which means his focus and attention are at an all time high too. He’s coming on leaps and bounds with his learning, and is putting in so much effort to his speech these days.”
This is a touching article. I loved every moment of reading it!
